Racking Magic Tips

Make magic with your ribber! Choose a few select needles - put some needles out of work, and push the technique of racking to its limits. Create this wonderful openwork fabric that is not only beautiful, it's reversible! Perfect for shawls and scarves.

This technique pushes racking to it's limits. If you are having trouble with this pattern, here are some tips

  1. Try knitting at a tighter/looser tension
  2. Use a different yarn
  3. Use the "7" weight holder on the edges. The accessory that slips between the beds
  4. Check your sponge bar and needles. Try knitting on a different set of needles - off center of the bed and see if that helps.
  5. Examine your needle arrangement. I found that having the end needles on the main bed was best.
