Double Wide Stitch Variation

I was testing a stitch pattern for a customer and my sample didn't look like it should.

This slip stitch is one of my favorites. It's KIN454_slip that is  included in a subscriber stitch bundle (slip stitches) in the Knit it Now Stitch Library

Slip stitch for machine knitting

The original pattern is supposed to look like the image on the right. It took me a while to discover that I had the "double wide" variation set on my machine. Duhh.... actually this is quite pretty, too!

Stay tuned .... I think I'll play a bit more with variations on this pattern ... maybe I'll discover a new slip stitch favorite!

I like the one on the left better. Some mistakes really work out better than the original and this is one!

Either of them would be stunning in a shiny or ribbon yarn.

Hi Sue, I think I love the left sample better. May I suggest that as you are going to have a bit of a play, try using a fine viscose rayon yarn and then 'KILL' it by heavily steaming the finished sample. I can envisage a lovely draping fabric using this stitch.

Hi Sue I think they are both lovely. It would be nice in a suit, with the top in one and skirt in another. Maybe!!
