5 Ways to Re-Ignite your
Machine Knitting Passion!

Beating Writer's Knitters Block

Have you ever had the knitters equivalent of writers block?

"Writer's (knitters) block is a condition, primarily associated with writing (knitting) as a profession, in which an author (a knitter) loses the ability to produce new work."

1. Make a resolution to finish something by a certain date. Make it reasonable and publish your goal somewhere - facebook, ravelry, twitter or even a sticky note on your fridge. writing down your goal makes it concrete.

2. Ask yourself - why do I knit? Creative expression? Expand your wardrobe? Gifts? Charity? Try to remember why you started on this journey to get back on track.

3. Try a new technique - use the Knit it Now "inspire me"link. Master or brush up on the technique, then incorporate it in a project - knit a hat for charity - or knit a full length coat for yourself. Set a goal and finish it!

4. Visit a high-end store. Honestly, how much inspiration can you get from your weekly trip to Wal-mart? Poke around Nordstrom or any department store that carries high-end garments and look at construction techniques and sweater shapes.

5. Clean and organize your knitting space. Place a vase of flowers in your work area - nothing blocks creativity like clutter. Remove UFO's, hide your stash (throw a sheet over it if you must). Start with a clean slate!
